Irene Bittner was awarded the Johanna Dohnal-Prize

On October 22, 2015 Dipl.-Ing.in Irene Bittner was awarded the Johanna-Dohnal-Prize for her dissertation thesis entitled "Freiräume für Bewegungsaktivitäten von jugendlichen Frauen und Männern in der Stadt am Beispiel Zwischenbrücken, Wien" (Urban Open Spaces for Physical Activities of Young Women and Men. A case study in Zwischenbrücken, Vienna [working title]). She received one out of four Johanna-Dohnal-Awards that were given out at a festive prize-giving ceremony by the Federal Minister for Women's Affairs. Gabriele Heinisch-Hosek. Dipl.-Ing.in Irene Bittner's dissertation is supervised by Univ.-Prof.in Dr.-Ing.in Gerda Schneider (Department of Landscape Architecture, BOKU Vienna) and co-supervised by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Michael Kolb (Department of Sport Sciences, University of Vienna).

The Johanna-Dohnal-Prize has been awarded to young female researchers since 2004 to recognize their work in academic fields still largely represented by men like natural sciences and technology, as well as research in feminist theory.
