Research led by our postdoc Dr. Gustavo Schaun and recently published in the journal Experimental Gerontology shows that in older individuals a combination of plyometrics and conventional training is just as effective as pure strength training. Notably, the former not only enhances muscle function but also improves muscle size and architecture. A promising discovery for active aging!
The study, which is also co-authored by Dr. Barbara Wessner and Dr. Robert Csapo, in collaboration with researchers from the Medical University of Vienna and the University for Health Sciences, Medical Informatics and Technology of Tirol.
