Mission Statement
Our work at the Division of Sport Psychology consists of exploring and improving mental excellence, both in the laboratory and the field. We study mental processes and performance in sports, and deliver sport psychological service to athletes and coaches. The main research and teaching areas include sport psychological diagnostics and interventions, motivation to physical activity and exercise, and health promotion.
We aim to contribute to the understanding of mental and behavioral processes in elite sports and neighbored industries, such as music and performing arts, and to the development and evaluation of psychological interventions. Furthermore, we explore mechanisms of physical activity participation and contribute to the promotion of physical activity and exercise at the workplace and outside of it.
