ESB conference in Maastricht

The 28th Congress of the European Society of Biomechanics was held in Maastricht, The Netherlands from the 9th until the 12th of July. The theme of the conference was ‘Combining data- and knowledge-driven modeling: from measurements, through insights to decisions’, which highlighted the importance of the integration of mechanistic experimental and computational biomechanics with upcoming data-driven modeling.

Ass-Prof Hans Kainz gave one talk entitled ‘Can altered motor control decrease joint loads in people with typical and increased anteversion angles?’. Furthermore, he was invited to give the Early Career Research Award talk, in which he summarized the recent work from his research group. Furthermore, Hans chaired the following three scientific sessions:

  1. Neuro-mechanics and motor control
  2. Clinical biomechanics – upper limb and methods
  3. Movement biomechanics methodology
