Maria Dinold wurde in der 26th ICSSPE General Assembly, die der 3. International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) in Santos, Brasilien, am 31. August 2016 voranging, als vice president des International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE) für die Periode 2017 – 2020 gewählt. Als ICSSPE President wurde Uri Schäfer (former head of the sport administration of the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sport, as well as former director of the Wingate Institute) bestätigt.
Weitere ICSSPE vice presidents: Darlene Kluka (Barry University, USA) und Wolfgang Baumann (TAFISA general secretary, D).

Im Rahmen von ICSEMIS wurde von Maria Dinold ein „Proposed Symposium“ zu ADAPTED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND INCLUSION - GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES AND COMMITMENTS TO INCLUSION koordiniert und vorgetragen.
Maria Dinold und Rosa Diketmüller nahmen anschließend auch an der Eröffnungsfeier der Paralympics 2016 in Rio de Janeiro teil und besuchten einige Wettkämpfe.
