National Dissemination Seminar for the Erasmus+ Project INSPIRA

26.06.2025

On Monday, June 23, 2025, the INSPIRA National Dissemination Seminar took place at the Department of Sport and Human Movement Science of the University of Vienna. This seminar was titled “AI and Health Benefits in Tennis: Austrian and International Practices”. Around 25 participants including students, researchers, tennis enthusiasts and a representative of the Austrian Tennis Federation attended.

As part of the EU-funded INSPIRA project (INclusive SPorts Innovative Resilience Advancement), the seminar first introduced innovative applications of artificial intelligence in tennis, with a particular focus on grassroots players. Several cutting-edge case studies were presented, showing AI-powered systems used in performance analysis, virtual coaching, and fan engagement. The second part of the seminar presented how tennis contributes to family and community engagement, from active aging initiatives and intergenerational participation to social inclusion and school integrated training academies.

The event closely reflected INSPIRA’s mission to promote community-oriented, health-enhancing tennis participation across all ages and ability levels. Participants left with new insights into how digital tools and inclusive practices can shape the future of grassroots sport in Austria and beyond.
