17.02.2025

On Friday, January 24, 2025, the official kick-off meeting for the international INSPIRA project took place at the Department of Sport and Human Movement Science of the University of Vienna. This initiative, funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme, brings together partner organisations from five countries: the University of Vienna, the Space Research and Technology Institute of Bulgaria, and the tennis clubs Lulin 6 (Bulgaria), ACE (Greece), Teniska Akademija Aerodrom (North Macedonia), and Krško (Slovenia).

INSPIRA"INclusive SPorts Innovative Resilience Advancement in Tennis" – aims to make tennis more accessible as a health-promoting and social sport for everyone. By leveraging digital technologies, the project seeks to lower entry barriers, enhance athletic skills, and encourage an active lifestyle. A particular focus is placed on engaging individuals from structurally disadvantaged regions.

The project is designed for both beginners and advanced players, regardless of their cultural, social, or economic background. Gender equality and inclusion are at the heart of INSPIRA’s mission, explicitly incorporating wheelchair athletes. INSPIRA aligns with the EU Guidelines for Physical Activity and the Erasmus+ Sport Policy priority "Encouraging healthy lifestyles for all." The project will benefit a broad audience and promote an inclusive, innovative, and health-oriented tennis experience across Europe.
