The project’s objectives are to raise awareness of the importance of health-enhancing physical activity (HEPA) of students and young people through increased participation in sports using innovative technologies and promote voluntary activities in university sport. The target groups are students and young people in the participating organisations, their teachers and coaches as well as the experts in the participating universities and NGOs.
Te(a)chIn Sport aims at elaborating an innovative model of physical activity suitable for non - practicing sports students using innovative feedback devices such as the mobile motion advisor. Amongst other things, this model includes incorporating new events in the grass-roots sports event calendar which focus on physical education regarding health rather than achieving good results in competitive sports. Moreover, prototypes for the innovative feedback devices will be developed, tested and evaluated.
The developments of this project will contribute to the education of teachers and coaches increasing their competences regarding health issues. Further, (non-practicing) students and young people will be motivated to participate in grass-roots sports more often. From seminars and workshops held during the project synergies with local, regional and national authorities, technical support and financing for sports in Universities and NGOs are expected.
