Match and competitions analysis with the help of the realtime positioning system ubisense

01.01.2010

The project's goal is the integration of a radio frequency technology (including ultra-wideband signals and appropriate sensors) provided by the company Ubisense, aiming the localization of sportsmen in sports facilities like tennis courts and sports halls. The methods "Time Difference Of Arrival" (TDOA) as well as "Angle of Arrival" (AOA) are applied to measure X-, Y- and Z-coordinates, which are then visualized using an in-house software tool in order to analyze several parameters like distance, velocity etc. In this way, conclusions on kinesic behaviour of one or more sportsmen can be drawn. This system is primarily assigned to game analysis.
