Clinical Biomechanist Award for Ass.-Prof. Dr. Hans Kainz

21.07.2020

On Monday the 13.07, Dr. Kainz from the Centre for Sport Science and University Sports of the University of Vienna was selected as the winner for the ‘ESB Clinical Biomechanist Award’.

On Monday Dr. Kainz from the Centre for Sport Science and University Sports of the University of Vienna presented his latest research results together with three more finalists at the ‘Clinical Biomechanist Award’ webinar of the European Society of Biomechanics (ESB). His research showed how you can use a multi-scale modeling workflow, which combines musculoskeletal simulations based on motion capture data and finite element analysis, to predict bone growth in children with cerebral palsy. The workflow has the potential to improve clinical-decision making in children with cerebral palsy in the future. Based on the clinical relevance and scientific quality of his research, the Award committee selected Dr. Kainz as the winner for the ‘ESB Clinical Biomechanist Award’.

The presentation of Dr. Kainz is available on the ESB Youtube Channel or can be accessed via the following link (presentation).
