Kinematic analysis of the lateral bow string deflection during the shot in archery

03.01.2011

The aim of this study is to examine finger and bow string movements during the release of the shot in archery, because of the common thinking of coaches in archery that lateral bow string deflection effects negatively on archer’s performance.  A Vicon motion capturing system will be used for capturing motion data. Shots will be separated into two groups in respect to the archer’s estimation and the score of each arrow: good and bad shots. Statistical analysis will proof if there are any significant differences in maximum lateral bow string deflection.
